After becoming Louis Vuitton’s new worldwide ambassador, HoYeon Jung looks a world apart from her Squid Game avatar.
The 27-year-old actress, who rose to prominence in the fashion industry before landing the role of Kang Sae-byeok in the popular South Korean Netflix drama, has returned to her roots, and fans of the brutal drama will be astounded by the change.
The move reunites the model with the company that launched her career with her runway debut, and she is overjoyed to be back after so many years.
Jung looked stunning in an enormous white jacket with gold accents for the first official ad photo.
Fans of the Squid Game are accustomed to seeing her in uniform as contestant 067, a North Korean defector who enters Game in quest of a broker to assist her locate and recover her family members who have crossed the border.
‘It is an honor to commemorate my beginnings as an actor with Louis Vuitton after having worked with them as a model,’ she stated in a statement on her Louis Vuitton part.
‘I’m looking forward to every minute of my time as a worldwide ambassador for Louis Vuitton.’
‘I instantly fell in love with HoYeon’s tremendous skill and wonderful personality, and I am looking forward to beginning this new chapter of the adventure we began at Louis Vuitton a few years ago,’ said Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière.
Jung’s relationship with the company dates back to 2017, when she debuted on the catwalk in a corset leather dress during Paris Fashion Week.

Since then, she’s walked for Chanel Haute Couture, Burberry, Bottega Venetta, Fendi, and a slew of other designers.
And the former Korea’s Next Top Model competitor, who came in second place on the reality program in 2013, has previously said that if her schedule permits her, she would love to combine her two loves.
‘I hope I can do both, but physically, I believe if I got a part or a new series came in, I’d have to concentrate on the filming,’ she told Teen Vogue.
‘At the moment, I don’t believe I can do modeling and acting at the same time, but if I don’t have a time [when I need to be shooting], I could. I’m sure I’ll be OK. ‘I’m a highly adaptable individual!’

And, with her acting career still in its infancy – Squid Game is, astonishingly, her first TV part – she is ready to accept whatever comes her way.
‘I don’t have any ambitions as an actor,’ she remarked to Herald POP. I want to become better every day and keep a steady pace without losing my commitment to work hard.
‘I may sway a lot, but I’ll put in the effort and keep going.’
